HAVING REGARD to Article 5(b) of the Convention on the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development of 14th December 1960;
HAVING REGARD to the Report by the Committee for Scientific Research of 18th July 1963 on Mineral Prospecting Methods [Doc. No. SR(63)24];
I. DRAWS THE ATTENTION of Governments of European Member countries to the recommendations made by the Committee for Scientific Research on:
1. a re appraisal of their mineral resources by a more vigorous application of modern prospecting techniques;
2. the general need for government assistance during the speculative stages of a programme designed to make a full appraisal of their mineral resources;
3. the importance of establishing legislation necessitating the collection of information on all prospecting operations in European Member countries where such legislation does not already exist.
II. INVITES Governments of European Member countries to take in this respect, either nationally or internationally, such measures as they deem necessary and which would lead to close co-operation in this field.
